Costumes galore March 8, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — zellner @ 4:46 pm

This weekend was filled with wonderful things- but one thing we did alot of was get dressed up- in costumes that is.  Emma’s dance pictures were Friday.  I had to find black shoes for her costumes.  After MANY attempts to find the right shoe paint, I ended up just buying some new black ballet slippers.  She is ready to be “On the Farm”.

Then Olivia had a full day of dress up.  This is her first year to be in two dance numbers.  The first is a dinosaur dance.  Yes, she really looks like a dinosaur~

Then she changed into her cowgirl costume.  Thinking of that great quote,”Necesity is the mother of invention,” I had to figure out how to sew elastic on to the hat.  The girls were all so cute ready to tap to the country song,”I’m from the country and I like it that way.”

The day finished with a birthday party for one of the girls in Olivia’s class.  The party was at a place called Pinkalicious.  Each girl chose a costume, her hair and make up were done by the staff, and she participated in the “fashion show” .  Olivia and her friends had so much fun! Olivia left asking if she could have hers there.

Olivia and the birthday girl! Happy birthday Kate.

Great costumes! I loved when my daughter took dance in her early years. Alas, she gave it up after only a couple of years in her pursuit to become a Olympic gymnast. When she was in sixth grade, I told her it was time to give up the dream. She was already 5’6″ and would be growing more!

  4. It is so fun catching up on our grandchildren. Their costumes are so cute.
