Let the earth resound… September 27, 2010

We have been singing a new song in youth group and last night we sang it in worship.  It is a Keith Getty and Stuart Townsend song called “Let the Earth Resound.”  I love how it speaks to God our Creator, God our Sovereign Lord, and God who gives Grace and Mercy.  My junior high class on Wednesday night has been tracing God’s promise of a Savior and Redeemer from Genesis through the Old Testament.  We are highlighting all the ways that God kept his promise and we are looking forward to how Christ came and fulfilled them all.  Our theme verse is 2 Corinthians 1:20,”For all the promises of God find their Yes in him.  That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.”

Last night’s song sings of God’s goodness to us throughout that history and His goodness to us in Christ:

Let the earth resound with songs of praise to the Father’s power and love-

For the One who set each star in place chose to set His heart on us.

To the One whose might gives victory yet whose mercies never cease-

as the tapestry of history tells the story of His grace.

King Immortal, faithful God, crowned with splendor, rich in love. Let the heavens and the earth resound with songs of praise to You.

It is so encouraging to sing of His goodness and His character that never changes!
