Cord and Lucy are outside right now, jumping on the trampoline.  The weather is absolutely perfect! There has been a change from steamy hot days to a cool breeze and overcast sky. They are playing circus.  I looked outside and they had put a slide, a shopping cart and a blow up bat on the trampoline with them.  I think they were just about to set up a Center Ring like the Circus has.  I made them take it all down- they weren’t very happy about that.

Monday is a huge day for us usually.  I do all our laundry that day.  We grocery shop for the majority of the week.  But today there has been an extra little time for them to play.  They chased each other all over the house.  Then, they were upstairs cooking and playing restaurant for awhile.  Somewhere along the way it must have turned into playing house.  That ended when they both came down crying about each other.  Lucy had “pretended” to spank  Cord and he “pretended” to spank her back.  We had to go over who does the spanking in this house- and when we do it- and why we do it.   After lots of “sorry”, they headed outside to play.   I don’t know what Lucy is going to do on Wednesday.  Cord will be starting 4 year old Pre K and he will be gone every morning.  She is going to miss that guy! (I am too 🙂 )

Too Precious August 13, 2011

Just now I was cleaning the bathroom and Cord and Lucy were both in there with me (not as helpful as you would think 🙂 ) Cord noticed Eric’s razor and he said,”Daddy needs to take out all those razors. We could get hurt.”  I said,”You are right Cord.  We have to be careful with those.  You are too precious to let anything happen to you.”  Lucy and Cord are in the middle of washing their hands. Cord looks at Lucy and says,”Lucy, we are too precious.”  Lucy says,”No we’re not.”  Cord says,” Yes we are! We are precious!”

I just love these kind of conversations.

new school year August 10, 2011

We headed back to school today. It was a half day, so there wasn’t alot of pressure 🙂 We made our annual pictures on the front porch…

We have great teachers.  I loved walking in today with my girls and know that my children are being prayed for, are being shaped, and are being taught by ladies who love the Lord and who have been doing this for a long time.  We dropped off tons of school supplies and took pictures with each of our teachers.

How cute are these ladies?

We picked the girls up and headed to eat lunch at the mall.  As soon as the girls got in the van, they were busy telling us all about their class, their requirements, their awesome planners, their tables that they sit at- both at the same time.  I had to make them alternate so that I can hear it all.  At the mall, everyone chose what they wanted to eat and we were able to finish a little back to school shopping.  5 out of 6 picked Chick Fil A- big surprise 🙂

I learned a new fact! Both the girls wear a kid’s size 4.  I headed to Dillard’s (which I found out was going out of business!) and found nothing.  We head to another shoe store and really can’t find anything there either.  I happen to walk through the ladies shoes and see a cute pair.  The smallest size is a 6. Olivia tries it on and it fits. Confusing!

The lady tells me that a kid’s 4 is similar to a lady’s size 5.5, depending on the shoe.  This opened up so many options.  We found a pair for each.  They are a little big, but will be perfect in a couple of months.  Shopping in ladies shoes- how strange!

We have a full day tomorrow.  Planners are signed, backpacks are ready, snacks are packed- all is right in the world 🙂
